Risk Master: Profiles, Limits and Daily Locks

Risk Master is SabrTrader's named-profile risk manager. You build a reusable set of size, order, P&L, per-trade and schedule caps, assign that profile to one or more accounts, optionally freeze the settings for the rest of today with Confirm for day, and let the platform reject orders that would breach those caps. This page is the complete written reference: what Risk Master is, why you would use it, how enforcement works, how profiles are assigned, every limit and what it does, what happens when an account locks, and what Confirm for day actually freezes.

SabrTrader Risk Master window with an account list showing Funded and Evals profile assignments, and the Funded profile's limits editor with max allowed contracts and max total loss caps ticked
Risk Master open on the Funded profile. The account list on the left shows each connected account's assigned profile and status; the editor on the right shows the armed caps for the selected profile — here max allowed contracts and max total loss — plus the trading schedule and the Unassign, Confirm for day and Save & apply to account actions.

What Risk Master Is

Risk Master is the window that owns SabrTrader's per-account risk policy. A risk profile is a named, reusable bundle of caps — maximum contracts, daily trade count, open-order and order-quantity ceilings, daily P&L stops, per-trade P&L stops, and an optional weekday/time schedule. You assign that profile to the accounts that should run it. Unassigned accounts have no Risk Master policy: their orders are not vetoed by these caps.

Open it from the main menu: Settings → Risk Master…. The window is split in two:

  • 1. Account — every connected account, the profile it is running, and its status (Unassigned, Active, Confirmed or Locked).
  • 2. Limits for this account — the profile editor: pick a saved profile or create a new one, tick the caps you want, then Save & apply to account.

The footer states the calendar rule that everything else on this page depends on: schedules, confirmed limits and hard locks use this PC's local calendar day. Confirmed limits cannot be changed, and a locked account cannot be unlocked, until the next local day.

Risk Master is not a broker-side risk module and not the Control Center's broker-reported columns (eval daily loss, trailing floor, auto-liquidate). Those figures come from the venue. Risk Master is local: it vetoes orders before they leave SabrTrader, and it can hard-lock an account for the rest of the local day.

Why You Would Use It

Use Risk Master when you need a policy you can name, reuse and freeze — not a one-off cap you type in and then forget. Typical reasons:

  • Several accounts, two policies. Prop eval accounts and funded accounts rarely share the same contract and loss caps. Create an Evals profile and a Funded profile, then assign each account to the one that matches its program. The Control Center Accounts tab shows those names as badges so you can see the mapping at a glance.
  • Fat-finger protection that travels with the account. Max order quantity and max allowed contracts reject an oversized click locally. The order never reaches the broker.
  • A hard stop on a bad day. Max daily realized loss, max total loss (including open P&L) and daily trailing drawdown are the prop-firm style brakes: once they trip, the account hard-locks and SabrTrader flattens open positions.
  • Discipline on a good day. Daily profit lock and the single-trade profit target stop you putting the session's win back on after you have already hit the plan.
  • Revenge-trading brake. Max consecutive losers and the daily trade limit lock new risk after a streak or a busy session, instead of letting the next click dig deeper.
  • Settings you cannot loosen mid-session. Confirm for day freezes every account's armed caps until tomorrow. You can still trade; you cannot raise the loss cap after you are already in a hole.
  • Copied accounts stay inside the same rules. The Trade Copier validates each copy-account order through the same risk validator, so a slave assigned a tighter profile will not follow a master order that would breach it.

Limits apply the same way on Sim, Paper and Live. An unconfigured account is never given a hidden default cap — if you have not assigned a profile, Risk Master does not veto that account.

How Enforcement Works

Risk Master enforces in two layers. Both run on this PC; neither is a broker kill-switch.

1. Pre-trade veto

Every new order (and every quantity-increasing modify) is checked against the account's armed profile before it is sent. If a cap would be breached, the order is rejected locally with an RMS reason. It never reaches the broker. First failing rule wins — you see one clear rejection, not a list.

Most P&L, streak, schedule and size rules exempt risk-reducing orders: an order that makes the absolute position smaller or equal is allowed even when the account is already in breach, so a cap can never trap you in the position you are cutting. Two exceptions are unconditional: max order quantity (an oversized order is oversized whichever way it points) and max daily realized loss once booked loss is already at the cap.

2. Hard lock

When a lock-capable limit is actually hit — daily loss, total loss, profit lock, trailing drawdown, daily trade count, consecutive losers, or a single-trade P&L stop — the account is hard-locked for the rest of the local day. SabrTrader then flattens every open position on that account. After the lock:

  • New risk is blocked (new entries, adds, and a reverse/flip).
  • Flatten, scale-out and cancel remain allowed.
  • The assigned profile cannot be changed or deleted until the next local day.
  • The lock cannot be cleared the same day. There is no Unlock button that works today.

You can also lock an account by hand with Lock account. A manual lock works even on an unassigned account.

What an unassigned account does

No profile means no armed caps. Orders on that account pass through Risk Master. The only exception is a manual hard lock, which still blocks new risk with no profile attached.

The local day

Daily counters, confirmed settings, schedules and hard locks all roll on this PC's local calendar date, not the exchange session and not UTC. At local midnight the lock lifts, Confirm for day expires, consecutive-loser streaks reset, and you can edit profiles again.

Opening Risk Master and Reading the Layout

From any SabrTrader window:

  1. Open the main menu Settings.
  2. Choose Risk Master… (it sits with ATM Strategies and Commissions).

The header reads: Pick an account, set the limits, then Save & apply. That is the whole workflow. Nothing is armed until you save and apply a profile to a selected account.

Left: accounts

Column Meaning
Account Every connected account, live, paper or sim.
Profile The named profile currently assigned. A dash means none.
Status Unassigned — no profile. Active — profile armed and editable. Confirmed — Confirm for day has frozen today's caps. Locked — hard-locked for the rest of today. Locked rows strike through the profile name.

Under the table:

  • Open status — opens Risk Master Status for the selected account (live usage against each cap).
  • Lock account — manual hard lock for the selected account, rest of today.

Right: limits for this account

If the selected account has no profile, a hint tells you to tick the caps you want and then Save & apply. If limits are confirmed or the account is locked, a banner explains that the editor is frozen until the next local day.

At the bottom right: Unassign (drop the profile from this account), Confirm for day (freeze every account's caps), Save & apply to account (write the editor into the catalog and bind it to the selected account).

Risk Profiles and How to Assign Them

A risk profile is a named template, not a per-account private copy. Several accounts can share one profile. Editing that profile changes the template every holder runs — unless Confirm for day or a hard lock has frozen it for today.

SabrTrader Control Center Accounts tab with a Risk profile column showing Funded and Evals badges on Apex, Bulenox and Sim accounts
Control Center → Accounts. The Risk profile column shows which named profile each connected account is running (here Funded vs Evals). Assignment is done in Risk Master; this column is the at-a-glance view.

Create a profile and assign it to one account

  1. Open Settings → Risk Master….
  2. Select the account on the left. If it is unassigned, the editor is a blank draft, pre-named after that account (or Limits if the account has no label). Duplicate names get a suffix such as (2).
  3. Type a Profile name you will recognise later — Evals, Funded, Sim 1-lot.
  4. Tick each cap you want and type the value. Unticked caps are off: they do not constrain the account.
  5. Click Save & apply to account. The profile is written to the catalog and bound to the selected account immediately. Status becomes Active.

A profile is valid only when the name is not blank and every ticked cap is greater than zero.

Assign the same profile to more accounts

  1. Select the next account on the left.
  2. In Select Risk Profile, choose the saved profile (for example Funded).
  3. Click Save & apply to account.
  4. Repeat for every account that should share those caps.

The Control Center Accounts tab (bottom tab bar) has a Risk profile column that shows the assigned name as a badge. That column is a display of the binding; you do not assign profiles from the grid. Use Columns… if the column is hidden.

Switch an account to a different profile

Select the account, pick the other saved profile, Save & apply. The change takes effect immediately unless the account is frozen by a hard lock or by Confirm for day — then today's assignment stays until the next local day.

Unassign

Unassign drops the profile from the selected account immediately. The catalog entry remains; other accounts still using it are untouched. Unassign is disabled while the account is locked or while Confirm for day is in force, because dropping RMS mid-day would be a same-day bypass.

New and Delete

  • New starts a separate blank draft instead of editing the shared profile currently in the editor. Use it when you want a second named policy, not a tweak to the one several accounts already share.
  • Delete removes the profile from the catalog. Unfrozen accounts using it become unassigned. Delete is blocked while any frozen account still holds that profile, or while Confirm for day has frozen the whole catalog.

While one account is hard-locked, the profile it holds cannot be edited or deleted — even if you have selected a different, still-editable account. A banner tells you the profile is used by a locked account until the next local day.

How to Set Limits, and What Each Limit Does

Every cap is off until you tick its checkbox and enter a value greater than zero. Tick only what you want enforced. Save & apply writes the set into the profile and arms it on the selected account.

Dollar figures are positive magnitudes. "Stop after $500 down" means type 500, not -500.

Size & orders

Limit What it does When it trips
Max allowed contracts Absolute position-size ceiling. Long 5 and short 5 are both compared against the same number via absolute quantity. Reductions are always allowed, including from a position that is already over the cap (for example an inherited fill). Pre-trade veto if the order would grow absolute size past the cap. Does not hard-lock.
Daily trade limit Maximum number of trades today. A trade is counted when a position opens (flat to non-flat) on that account, not on every partial fill. New risk is rejected once the count is at the cap, and the account hard-locks for the rest of the local day. Flatten / scale-out stay allowed.
Max open orders Ceiling on concurrent working orders on that account. A modify of an existing order does not count as adding one. Pre-trade veto when adding the order would exceed the cap. Does not hard-lock.
Max order quantity Fat-finger cap on a single order's quantity, independent of the resulting net position. A 500-lot that happens to flatten you is still rejected. Pre-trade veto, no reduce exemption. Does not hard-lock.

Daily P&L

Limit What it does When it trips
Max total loss Prop-firm style drawdown guard. Measures realized P&L + unrealized (open) P&L. A large open loss counts even if nothing is booked yet. Risk-reducing orders stay allowed so the cap cannot trap you in the position. Hard-locks when total P&L ≤ −limit, then flattens. New risk blocked for the rest of the local day.
Max consecutive losers How many losing trades in a row are allowed since the last winner (or session start). A winner resets the streak to zero. Streaks roll on the next local day. Hard-locks when the streak reaches the cap. New risk blocked; flatten / scale-out stay allowed.
Max daily realized loss Ceiling on booked losses only. Open mark-to-market is ignored. Type a positive amount: $500 down is 500. Breach is realized P&L ≤ −that amount. Hard-locks when booked loss reaches the cap, then flattens. New risk blocked for the rest of the local day.
Daily profit lock Once realized P&L reaches the target, lock the win: no new risk for the rest of the session. Reductions and flatten stay allowed so you can still scale out. Hard-locks when realized P&L ≥ target, then flattens remaining risk.
Daily trailing drawdown Tracks today's peak total P&L (realized + unrealized). Drawdown used = peak − current total P&L. The cap is how far you may give back from that peak. Hard-locks when drawdown used exceeds the cap, then flattens. Status shows peak, used, headroom and a usage bar.

Per trade

Limit What it does When it trips
Single-trade loss limit Maximum realized loss allowed on one closed trade. When that trade closes at or beyond the loss, the account hard-locks for the rest of the local day.
Single-trade profit target A per-trade realized-profit ceiling: hitting it ends the session the same way a daily profit lock does, but on one trade rather than on the day's booked total. When that trade closes at or beyond the target, the account hard-locks for the rest of the local day.

Schedule

Optional. Default is every weekday, all day. When armed, new risk is rejected outside the allowed weekdays or local time windows. Risk-reducing orders remain allowed. A schedule miss does not hard-lock the account — trading can resume when the next allowed window opens, the same local day.

  • Allowed trading days — Sun through Sat checkboxes.
  • Time restriction windows (local) — add windows with +. Empty list means all day. A window that starts later than it ends (for example 22:00–06:00) is treated as overnight.

P&L figures the venue has not reported

If a P&L-based cap is armed but the venue has not yet published today's realized P&L, new risk is blocked until the figure arrives — waving the order through would silently disable the cap. The same idea applies to max total loss when some open positions cannot be valued in the account currency (missing FX rate): new risk is blocked until the open P&L is complete, because an incomplete sum would understate the drawdown. Flatten / scale-out stay allowed in both cases.

What Confirm for Day Does

Confirm for day freezes every account's armed limits for the rest of today. It is a settings lock, not a trading lock.

  • Trading continues until a limit is hit.
  • You cannot raise, lower, switch, unassign or delete profiles until the next local day.
  • It cannot be undone the same day. The button greys out once today is already confirmed.
  • It is global: confirming does not leave a second account free to take a looser profile later today.

The button tooltip is the contract: Freezes every account's limits for the rest of today. Cannot be undone until the next local day. Trading continues until a limit is hit.

How to confirm

  1. Assign the profiles you actually want. At least one account must have a profile or Confirm for day fails with "No risk profile is assigned to an account."
  2. Review the editor. If the selected account already has a profile, Confirm for day saves that visible editor first so dirty edits are not left behind the freeze. It will not silently assign a blank draft to an unassigned account when other accounts are already bound.
  3. Click Confirm for day.
  4. Every row's status becomes Confirmed. A yellow banner reads: All accounts' limits are confirmed for today. They cannot be changed until the next local day. Trading continues until a limit is hit.

Use Confirm for day when the plan for the session is set and you do not want a later impulse — raising max contracts, switching an eval account onto the funded profile, unassigning RMS — to take effect before tomorrow.

Confirm for day does not flatten anything and does not block new trades by itself. The hard lock is what stops new risk, and it still fires when a confirmed limit is actually hit.

What If My Account Got Locked

A Locked status means the account cannot take new risk until the next local day. Flatten, scale-out and cancel still work. Positions are flattened automatically at the moment of the lock so an open trade cannot keep losing after the stop has already fired.

Why it locked

Select the account and click Open status. If a lock reason is set, Status shows it in plain language:

Lock reason What tripped it
Locked manually You pressed Lock account.
Daily loss limit Max daily realized loss.
Total loss cap Max total loss (realized + open).
Daily profit target Daily profit lock.
Daily trailing drawdown Give-back from today's peak total P&L exceeded the cap.
Daily trade limit Trades today reached the cap.
Consecutive losers Losing streak reached the cap.
Single-trade loss One closed trade hit the single-trade loss limit.
Single-trade profit One closed trade hit the single-trade profit target.

What you can still do

  • Flatten and cancel remaining working orders if anything is still open (the automatic flatten already ran; these stay allowed as a backstop).
  • Watch the account in Control Center and in Risk Master Status.
  • Keep trading other accounts that are not locked. Confirm for day still freezes their settings, but it does not lock them.

What you cannot do until the next local day

  • Place a new entry, add to a position, or reverse.
  • Unlock the account. There is no same-day unlock for a lock that is active today, manual or automatic.
  • Change or delete the profile that locked account holds. Other accounts can still be viewed; they cannot mutate that frozen template.

The lock banner in Risk Master is: This account is locked for the rest of today. Flatten and cancel remain allowed. The assigned profile cannot be changed or deleted until the next local day.

When this PC's local date rolls, the lock clears, daily counters reset, and you can assign, edit and confirm again. If you restart SabrTrader the same local day, a persisted lock is still honoured — reconnecting does not unlock you.

Risk Master Status

Open status is the live dashboard for one account against the profile it is running. Switch accounts from the dropdown at the top without closing the window.

SabrTrader Risk Master Status window for account BX103343-16 on the Evals profile, showing current total P&L, daily trades and schedule
Risk Master Status for one account: live trailing-drawdown usage, other daily limits, today's trade count and realized P&L, and the profile's trading schedule in this PC's local time.

The header shows the assigned profile name. If today is confirmed, an orange line reads: Limits are confirmed for today and cannot be changed until the next local day. If the account is locked, a red line reads: Account locked for the rest of the local day, plus the lock reason.

Daily trailing drawdown card

  • Drawdown limit — the cap from the profile (zero means that cap is not armed).
  • Today's peak PnL — highest realized + unrealized total so far today.
  • Current total PnL — realized + unrealized now.
  • Drawdown used — peak minus current.
  • Threshold PnL — the total P&L at which the cap would trip (peak minus the limit).
  • Headroom — how much further current P&L can fall before the lock.
  • Drawdown usage — used / limit as a percentage bar.

Other daily limits

The armed ceilings plus today's live counts: max contracts, max open orders, max order quantity, max total loss, daily trades (shown as used / cap when a trade limit is armed), consecutive losses, realized P&L, daily loss limit, daily profit target, and the two single-trade P&L caps. A zero means that cap is not armed on the profile.

Schedule

Allowed weekdays, time windows (All day when none are set), and the current local time on this PC. If you are outside the allowed window, the time is highlighted so the reason new risk is rejected is visible without opening the editor.

Recommended Setup

  1. Name profiles after the programme, not the account. Evals and Funded stay correct when you add or retire accounts. Naming a profile after one account number makes the shared-template design harder to see.
  2. Tick only the caps you intend to live with. An unticked cap is off. A ticked cap with a value you copied from another program can lock you out of a sim account you meant to leave unconstrained.
  3. Prefer max total loss when open P&L can bury you. Max daily realized loss ignores the open trade. Max total loss counts it. Prop-style trailing give-back is daily trailing drawdown, not max total loss.
  4. Set max order quantity even if max contracts is already 1. They answer different mistakes: one is position size, the other is a single mis-clicked lot size that might flatten you as a 50-lot.
  5. Confirm for day after the session plan is set, not before. Confirming with no profile assigned fails. Confirming too early freezes a draft you then cannot fix until tomorrow.
  6. Leave at least one sim account unassigned if you need an unconstrained playground. Unassigned means no RMS, which is a deliberate choice, not a missing default.
  7. If you copy trades, assign the tighter profile to the slaves. The copier will suppress a copy that would breach the slave's Risk Master caps and leave an audit line; the master is unaffected.

Common Mistakes

  • Assuming Control Center assigns the profile. The Risk profile column is a badge. Assignment is Save & apply in Risk Master.
  • Editing a shared profile thinking it is private. Changing Funded while one Apex account is selected changes Funded for every account that holds it, unless today is frozen.
  • Typing a negative loss cap. Values are positive magnitudes. 250 means $250 down.
  • Expecting max daily realized loss to stop an open drawdown. Booked loss only. Use max total loss or daily trailing drawdown for open mark-to-market.
  • Treating Confirm for day as flatten. Confirmed accounts keep trading. Locked accounts do not take new risk and are flattened.
  • Looking for Unlock today. A same-day lock, manual or automatic, lasts until this PC's next local date. Restarting the app does not clear it.
  • Unassigning to "get a fill through." Unassign is disabled once confirmed or locked, by design.
  • Counting on UTC or the exchange session. The day boundary is this PC's local midnight. A traveler or a machine with the wrong timezone will roll Risk Master on the wrong wall-clock day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Risk Master in SabrTrader?

Risk Master is the window under Settings → Risk Master… that lets you create named risk profiles (reusable sets of size, order, P&L, per-trade and schedule caps) and assign them to one or more connected accounts. Orders that would breach an armed cap are rejected locally. Some caps also hard-lock the account for the rest of the local day and flatten open positions.

Why would I use Risk Master instead of the broker's own risk controls?

Broker and prop-firm controls still apply. Risk Master is the local policy you own: named profiles you can reuse across accounts, a Confirm for day freeze so you cannot loosen the plan mid-session, and pre-trade vetoes that never send a breaching order. Use it for eval vs funded mappings, fat-finger caps, and discipline stops the venue does not offer in the same shape.

How do I assign a risk profile to more than one account?

Save & apply the profile on the first account. Select each additional account, choose the same name under Select Risk Profile, and Save & apply again. All of those accounts then share the template. The Control Center Risk profile column shows the name on every row.

What is Confirm for day?

Confirm for day freezes every account's armed limits until this PC's next local day. Trading continues until a limit is hit. You cannot change, switch, unassign or delete profiles in the meantime, and you cannot undo the confirm the same day. It is a settings freeze, not an account lock.

What is the difference between Confirmed and Locked?

Confirmed means today's caps are frozen but you can still trade until a cap is hit. Locked means new risk is blocked for the rest of the local day, open positions have been flattened, and flatten/cancel remain the only order actions allowed. Confirm never flattens by itself; a limit hit (or Lock account) does.

What happens if my account got locked?

Stop looking for an unlock: there isn't one today. Open status to see the lock reason. Flatten and cancel still work. Other unlocked accounts are unaffected. The lock, the assigned profile, and the daily counters all roll at this PC's next local midnight. Restarting SabrTrader the same day does not clear a persisted lock.

Does a locked account flatten automatically?

Yes. On the transition to hard-locked, SabrTrader flattens every open position on that account. Flatten and scale-out remain allowed afterwards as a backstop. A reverse (flipping to the other side) is new risk and is blocked.

Which limits hard-lock the account, and which only reject an order?

Hard-lock (and flatten): max daily realized loss, max total loss, daily profit lock, daily trailing drawdown, daily trade limit, max consecutive losers, single-trade loss, single-trade profit, and the manual Lock account button. Veto only: max allowed contracts, max open orders, max order quantity, and the trading schedule. A schedule miss does not lock you out of later windows the same day.

Does max daily realized loss count open trades?

No. It uses booked realized P&L only. An open position that is deep underwater does not trip it. Use max total loss (realized + unrealized) or daily trailing drawdown (give-back from today's peak total P&L) when open mark-to-market should count.

How is daily trailing drawdown calculated?

SabrTrader tracks today's peak of realized + unrealized P&L. Drawdown used is that peak minus current total P&L. The account hard-locks when used exceeds the cap you typed. Status shows peak, current, used, threshold, headroom and a usage bar.

What does the daily trade limit count as a trade?

A position opening: the account going from flat to non-flat in an instrument. Partial adds on an already-open position are not extra trades. When the count reaches the cap, new risk is blocked and the account hard-locks for the rest of the local day.

Can I change limits after Confirm for day?

Not until the next local day. Save, assign, unassign and delete are no-ops for today. That is the point of the button. Trading itself is not stopped.

Do Risk Master limits apply to sim accounts?

Yes. Sim, paper and live use the same rules. Assign a profile to a sim account if you want the same fat-finger and daily-loss reflexes you will have live. Leave it unassigned if you want that sim unconstrained.

Does the Trade Copier honor Risk Master?

Yes. Each copy-account order is validated with the same risk validator the rest of the platform uses. A slave whose profile would be breached does not receive that copy; the master is not blocked by the slave's cap.

Why is Confirm for day greyed out?

Either limits are already confirmed for today, or no account has a profile assigned yet. Assign at least one profile, or wait until the next local day if today is already confirmed.

An account has no limits. Is there a hidden default cap?

No. Unassigned means unconstrained by Risk Master. There is no silent $5,000 daily-loss default. Tick caps and Save & apply, or the account stays open.

Can I still flatten when a P&L cap has been hit?

Yes once the account is hard-locked: flatten and scale-out are allowed, reverse is not. Risk Master also flattens automatically at lock time so you are not left holding the position that tripped the cap.

What timezone does "local day" use?

This PC's local calendar, the same clock the Risk Master footer refers to. It is not the CME session and not UTC. Status shows current local time so you can see which day the platform thinks it is.

Troubleshooting

Confirm for day does nothing / stays disabled

Assign a profile to at least one account with Save & apply, then try again. If every row already says Confirmed, today is frozen and the button stays disabled until this PC's next local date.

I cannot edit or delete a profile

Either Confirm for day has frozen the catalog, or a hard-locked account still holds that profile. Both last until the next local day. The banner above the editor names which of the two it is. You can still open Status and trade accounts that are not locked.

My account is Locked and I need to trade again today

You cannot unlock a same-day hard lock. Flatten/cancel remain allowed on that account; new risk does not. Use a different account that is not locked, or wait for local midnight. Restarting the platform does not clear a lock that was persisted for today.

Orders are rejected with RMS but I never set a daily loss

Check which profile the account actually holds (Risk Master left-hand list, or the Control Center Risk profile badge). A shared profile edited from another account changes every holder. Also check schedule windows and max order quantity — those reject without locking. Open status to see armed caps versus zeros (unarmed).

New risk is blocked because realized P&L is unavailable

A P&L-based cap is armed but the venue has not published today's realized P&L yet. Flatten/scale-out still work. Wait for the account snapshot to carry the figure, or unassign/disarm that cap only if today is not already confirmed or locked.

The Risk profile column is missing in Control Center

Open the Accounts tab, click Columns…, and enable Risk profile. Assignment still happens only in Risk Master; the column is the badge view of that binding.

Glossary

Confirm for day
A global freeze of every account's armed Risk Master limits until this PC's next local calendar day. Trading continues until a limit is hit. Assign, unassign, edit and delete are no-ops until tomorrow and cannot be undone the same day.
Daily profit lock
Risk Master realized-profit target. Once booked P&L reaches the typed amount, the account hard-locks for the rest of the local day so the session win cannot be put back on. Flatten and scale-out stay allowed.
Daily trade limit
Risk Master cap on how many position opens (flat to non-flat) an account may book today. Reaching the cap hard-locks the account for the rest of the local day.
Daily trailing drawdown
Risk Master give-back cap measured from today's peak total P&L (realized + unrealized). Drawdown used = peak − current total. The account hard-locks when used exceeds the cap.
Hard lock
Account state in which new risk is blocked for the rest of the local day. Triggered manually (Lock account) or by a lock-capable cap. SabrTrader flattens open positions on the transition. Flatten, scale-out and cancel remain allowed; reverse is blocked. Cannot be cleared the same day.
Local calendar day
The date on this PC's local clock. Risk Master schedules, Confirm for day, daily counters and hard locks all roll at local midnight, not on the exchange session and not on UTC.
Max allowed contracts
Risk Master absolute position-size ceiling. Long and short quantity are both compared via absolute size. Orders that reduce size are always allowed, including from an already over-cap position.
Max consecutive losers
Risk Master losing-streak cap. A losing closed trade increments the streak; a winner resets it to zero. Reaching the cap hard-locks new risk for the rest of the local day. The streak also resets on the next local date.
Max daily realized loss
Risk Master booked-loss cap. Type a positive magnitude; the account hard-locks when realized P&L ≤ −that amount. Open mark-to-market is ignored. Contrast with max total loss.
Max open orders
Risk Master ceiling on concurrent working orders on one account. A modify of an existing order does not add to the count. Veto only; does not hard-lock.
Max order quantity
Risk Master fat-finger cap on a single order's quantity, independent of the resulting net position. Applies even to a reducing or flattening order. Does not hard-lock the account.
Max total loss
Risk Master drawdown cap on realized P&L plus unrealized (open) P&L. The account hard-locks when that total ≤ −the typed magnitude. Risk-reducing orders stay allowed so the cap cannot trap an open position.
Risk Master
SabrTrader window (Settings → Risk Master…) that creates named risk profiles, assigns them to accounts, confirms those settings for the local day, and hard-locks an account when a lock-capable cap is hit.
Risk Master Status
Live dashboard opened from Risk Master → Open status. Shows one account's armed caps against today's usage: trailing-drawdown headroom, trade count, consecutive losses, realized P&L, lock reason and schedule in local time.
Risk profile
A named, reusable template of Risk Master caps (size, orders, daily P&L, per-trade P&L, schedule) that can be assigned to one or more accounts. Editing the template changes every unfrozen account that holds it.
Risk-reducing order
An order whose result is a smaller or equal absolute position in that instrument. Most Risk Master P&L, streak, size and schedule rules allow these even after a breach so a cap cannot trap the trader in the position they are cutting. Max order quantity does not use this exemption.
Single-trade loss limit
Risk Master cap on the realized P&L of one closed trade. Closing at or beyond the loss hard-locks the account for the rest of the local day.
Single-trade profit target
Risk Master cap on the realized P&L of one closed trade. Closing at or beyond the target hard-locks the account for the rest of the local day.
