Quantower vs ATAS

Quantower vs ATAS: two ways to buy order flow, and a third that bundles it.

Quantower is a multi-broker trading terminal, and you add order flow to it by extension or licence. ATAS works the other way round: it's an order flow platform, and features open up plan by plan. SabrTrader gives you the whole order flow desk in one plan, then adds the strategy tools and the AI.

Terminal or analysis

Quantower or ATAS?

Quantower is a trading terminal first. You get many broker connections, a DOM and coded C# strategies, and footprint and heatmap are sold as extensions or in a licence. ATAS starts from analysis: footprints are on every plan, while real-time futures and per-order tools sit on higher plans. SabrTrader puts trading, order flow, backtesting and AI together.

Quantower starts at the broker

What Quantower is best at: the trading terminal

Quantower is built outward from the connection. It connects to many brokers and feeds, its DOM Trader shows per-order data on Rithmic, and its copier works across connections. You write strategies in C#, and you can backtest them.

The order flow views are the part you pay for. Cluster charts and volume profiles sit in the Volume Analysis extension. TPO and the DOM Surface heatmap are separate extensions, or part of the All-in-One licence.

ATAS starts at the chart

What ATAS is best at: the analysis

With ATAS you open a chart and the footprint is there. It comes with every plan, in over 400 preset variations by ATAS's count. Next to it you get 240+ indicators, a Smart DOM and a heatmap that's labelled beta.

What changes by plan is how much of it you can use. Futures are 15 minutes delayed below the Pro plan, indicators per chart are capped below Ultra, and the Market by Order tools belong to Ultra.

Whichever you pick

What neither Quantower nor ATAS gives you

Pick Quantower and you get strategy code but pay extra for the order flow views. Pick ATAS and you get the order flow views, but we found no backtester.

  • A strategy builder without code. We found none built into either. AlgoStudio Pro builds rules by pointing and clicking.
  • A strategy generator. Neither has one that we could find. Ours evolves candidates and rejects the ones that fail out of sample or under Monte Carlo.
  • An AI on the chart. We didn't find one in either. Ours reads bars, footprint and positions, and it uses your own model key.
  • Two computers on one licence. Both allow one at a time, so a second computer means a second licence. Ultimate and Perpetual include 2 seats.

No extension list

How SabrTrader covers both

  • Order flow without an extension list. Footprint, volume profile, TPO, heatmap and SuperDOM are all in Pro. See the order flow desk.
  • Market by Order without the top plan. Per-order depth and icebergs are in Pro, and you can record your own MBO data.
  • No indicator cap. Every plan gives you real-time data on your own feed and unlimited indicators per chart.
  • A copier built for prop accounts. Several Rithmic logins at once, stops and targets always copied. More on the trade copier.
  • Direct Rithmic login. No R|Trader Pro running alongside.
Bringing your setup

What comes with you when you switch

  • Your C# carries over. All three platforms use C#. Indicators need modest changes, and ours hot-reload as you save.
  • Your footprint is rebuilt in minutes. Pick the closest of 14 templates, change anything, save it as your own.
  • Your broker stays. Log in with the Rithmic account you already have.
  • Try it first. You get 14 days of full access. After that the Free plan keeps replay, the backtester and a copier for one follower.
  • Windows today. Mac and Linux versions are planned for Q1 2027.

Questions from both camps

Quantower vs ATAS questions

Is ATAS better than Quantower for footprint charts?

ATAS puts footprints on every plan, where Quantower's cluster chart needs the Volume Analysis extension or a licence. In SabrTrader the footprint is in Pro, with 14 fully customisable templates.

Does Quantower or ATAS have a backtester?

Quantower does: it backtests strategies written in C#. For ATAS we couldn't find a backtester, and it positions Market Replay as its testing tool. SabrTrader backtests on tick data, without code if you prefer.

Which is better for prop firm accounts, Quantower or ATAS?

Either one can copy trades between accounts. Quantower does it with its Copy Trading panel, ATAS with the Following Manager from the Plus plan. SabrTrader's copier is on every plan and always copies the stop and target.

Do I need the top plan for Market by Order?

In ATAS, yes: the MBO tools are listed on Ultra. Quantower shows per-order data on Rithmic in its DOM Trader. In SabrTrader it's part of Pro, in both the heatmap and the SuperDOM.

Can I use Quantower or ATAS on two computers at the same time?

No. Quantower's FAQ says "one paid license cannot be used on several computers simultaneously". The ATAS licence agreement allows "only one simultaneous login". SabrTrader Ultimate and Perpetual run on two computers at once, on one licence. Billed monthly that's $115 for both computers, against two ATAS Pro licences at €69.95 each.
